This is the opportunity on the WEB to see, one more time, what real technology WAS ! REX (Zanussi) H920 (BS110) CHASSIS BS110/4 INTERNAL VIEW.
The ZANUSSI CHASSIS BS110/4 consists in a mono panel on which is fitted all the tube circuitry for the tellye.
It can be routed like a door for service feature.
Note the EHT selenium rectifier which is a Specially designed selenium rectifiers were once widely used as EHT rectifiers in television sets and photocopiers. A layer of selenium was applied to a sheet of soft iron foil, and thousands of tiny discs (typically 2mm diameter) were punched out of this and assembled as "stacks" inside ceramic tubes. Rectifiers capable of supplying tens of thousands of volts could be made this way. Their internal resistance was extremely high, but most EHT applications only required a few hundred microamps at most, so this was not normally an issue. With the development of inexpensive high voltage silicon rectifiers, this technology has fallen into disuse.

Hello Frank,
ReplyDeletemy name is Rino, thanks for your beautyfull blog! I recognized some TVs I know: BS110 was one of the tellies I have (since I was a baby!). If you need, I have also the schematic diagram of it and I will be happy to send! Mine was branded Becchi, another Zanussi brand very popular in the past for their stoves.
Hi Rino. Thanks for commenting.
ReplyDeleteI don't need the diagram, thanks anyway.
If you know the exact model number of this tellye write here to me because the stiker is missing. You can find eventually the model code number reference on your service diagram, if present.
Have Fun.
FRANK.
Hello Frank,
ReplyDeletethe diagram reports models:
H920, HN920 (20")
H923, HN923 (23")
G923, GN923 (23")
BS110 is the chassis code
The diagram is dated 04/1969
Mine was replaced because of a tuner fault: that tuning units were amazing, but faulty (my father was a TV tech at that time)!
Is it your in working conditions?
Bye,
Rino
HI Rino, Thanks for replying, I've already edited Post title with your Provided model code number. Tuner unit was a delicate mechanic driven type so indeed prone to faults.
ReplyDeleteThe tellye is in working order.
Thanks,
Best fun times,
FRANK.
